Met up with the gang for our long overdue gathering at Liang Court's Suanthai.
Cuz we have big eaters...chili eater... in the group so i think thai buffet was a ideal choice! joining us at the lunch is Jasmine, keith's gf....kinda shy but i guess being with our group....it doesnt really matter....you cant help but talk......cuz thomas likes to ask many many questions..haha
Coincidentally i met yelin at the restaurant.....guess she was celebrating her mother's day with her whole family...they have a large crowd next to our table.....it was like the first time i saw yelin's mum.....not what i have imagined to be...she has long hair and look pretty young and fashionable.....not the typical mum one could imagine...

No matter how disappointed we were...
we still ate...and there are some worth mentioning...
Day one...i bought a strawberry roll from NTUC chalet's emi cakes the night before....it was supposed to be my breakfast but eugene soon end up sharing with me on the plane....from his expression...i think he was impressed....
The first meal we had in KL was PENANG FOOD.....haha...yup....funny but true....berjaya time square is directly opposite our hotel and in there sit a nice penang restaurant....the decor was cool and the food was pretty good......*we were starving then....
In the night.....we went to the famous jalan alor for dinner....had the legendary "black" hokkien mee.....and this charred stingray......the food looks interesting...but the singapore version wins! i like my stingray sambal hot and the hokkien mee is not so salty.....

Day two is the day we ate like mad....but NOT SATISFIED...just bloated.....the only two things i love to mention are our room service and the famous beef noodle....they were yummy!!! the room service pasta is superb....i like the sundried tomatoes!!! then in the late noon...we visit jalan petaling for the beef noodle......it was special.....they use the wanton noodle type of noodle...think its call "mee kia" and it is soaked in black black sauce..... eugene say: how come their food all black black one?! haha...its not bad.....but pretty special...not something we will have in singapore..

Last day.... we had the roti chanai!!! its roti prata la.....it was ok...not something to rave.....but i think they have the sauce singapore dun have...then off to pavilion...had the cute cupcake sized cheesecakes......and eugene think that is the best durian cheesecake he had....i gotta agree with that......
We decided to splurge on tapas the pavilion.....and wrong decision........it was recommended by eugene's client....but it is not impressive and super ex!
and before i forget...we had this satay in a cup at a satay bar...the food is so so...but the packaging and concept is definitely worth mentioning!

KL
Apr 28th ~ Apr30th
It was a short trip....we had a nice hotel room.....i think that is the best thing we had....
Shopping is not really fun...we have different kind of fashion....or maybe just different from mine...i only manage to get a pair of slippers...*sad...
Food wise.... this is like the most impt reason why i travel....... and sad sad sad.....most of the things i had....singapore's version is better...and there is like nothing they have and we dun....the only thing i will miss is the roti chanai...which is our roti prata...theirs is really good.....they serve sambal at the side....other than that....i dun think there is any distinct "KL" food....... you know...unlike penang....penang have penang laksa.....penang char kway teow etc.. so i was very very disappointed.........
people wise..... i think not very different from singaporean la......
Traffic wise.... IT WAS TERRIBLE. period.
i think KL is not very different from singapore...just not that progressive...... dun get me wrong....i like places like bangkok.....siem reap etc...these places are not as progressive.....but the thing is that...they have something distinct...like food....culture blah blah blah...but..i dun seem to find it in KL.....nothing special.....
I think i still like Malaysia, but maybe not KL.....

I love sakae sushi for just one reason...and that is the reason why eugene hates it.....they have this
fried vege thingy which i love so much...3 plates on my own is not a prob at all...so you see why eugene hate the place?
There is a reason why i especially love sakae at wheelock place.... and that is because of the "BIG O" cafe....and in this pretty cafe...serves my lovely cake - "G spot"!!! we had our mains at sakae and shift to Big O for my sweets!!! i have G spot and he had the D Spike...a durian-chocolate cake. Just when i whip out my camera...he block my lens with his fork.....and say "no pictures!"...and what follows is the ...'See no evil"...but i dun think it helps...so what if his hands are covering the face.....who dun know that is eugene soon?!
fitness trainers have breaks too... haha....
Pardon him.
