dragon year is here ;)
Unlike the last 2 years which i spent the cny eve and day 1 in Singapore, i was back in in Paloh. Many things prompted me to go back and the screaming reason is the fact that mygranny was in her 80s, i dun wanna have to regret missing her eventually.
It was a 2 hours plus drive fromo Singapore.. and i know it is bad to say but with my sis in Japan, the back seat is super spacious and this has got to be the most comfortable ride back...
from city to a small village/town my dad calls home:

since young the idea of heading back to malaysia isnt to attractive as i'm a spoilt city brat. to a younger me... it was 2 to 3 days of dirtier toilet.... lots of mosquito bites and sleeping with no aircon and getting frights from all the fire crackers..
It was in my teenage years that i start to appreciate it a little more, treating every return as a chance to connect with my relative whom i meet once or twice a year.... feasting on the roti-chanai (prata)..but still the infamilarity with the relatives...lack of entertainment is a prob. I still spend lots of time staring at the clock hoping time pass faster with each blink... i took lots of afternon naps hoping time sneaks away..... its really not the problem with the place, its the problem with me and i admit.
this year it is better cause we have WIFI!!
WIFI = ENTERTAINMENT
I can surf the net, i can chat on whatsapp... i can add my cousins on Facebook, i can do video conferencing with my sis who is far away in Japan.... it fees so much better..
Making things better were my niece and nephew... they were new in the family and so i spend lots of time playing with them... they certainly made me feel more at home =)
i am pretty glad i made it back this year.
Not to mention distance made the heart fonder..guess what my baby sent me....

Some other snapshots of my cny:
